Most of my local clients know they have been able to find me for the past 5 years at the Home Depot in Cabot on Going Road where I opened each growing season with my popular 'gardening 101' classes.
Due to circumstances beyond my control, I am no longer affiliated with that organization. I am not 'sick' as many of you were told in the store, I was canned, terminated, FIRED... Something that has NEVER happened to me in my life.
I hope someday to share my experience with you, but for now I am much too upset over the circumstances to talk about it. Leave it to say that I got the shaft.
When the time is right, you can be sure I will share the particulars of my departure.
I want to let those of you that have visited the store and voiced their displeasure over my untimely departure, you are very much appreciated. It CERTAINLY makes me feel better knowing that you liked the service I provided.
The 'Voice of the Customer" as it is called at THD, is a powerful tool. There is a website listed on every receipt given by the store where you can voice your concerns. Use it to your advantage.
Remember, there are many local nurseries in this area and a nice Lowes in Jacksonville. I feel the best way to voice your concerns is with your wallet. $ talks!
I promise you that I will land somewhere soon and I can help you with your gardening projects just like old times. You can always reach me through this website. Use the contact page and I will get back with you.

MrSmartyPlants.com is the place you can go to find out all about gardening.
Evidently you are interested in gardening or you wouldn't have stumbled upon my site! Thank you and welcome!
Hopefully you'll find something interesting or useful here and come back often!!
I am not a botanist, horticulturist or PhD in anything but dirty hands, sore knees, and lately a stiff back. That's not to say I'm not well read and don't have an education, nor is it to say I haven't learned from respected people in the business either. Most of my plant knowledge is hands-on experience and self-taught. I graduated from that school of hard knocks with a major in wasted money.
My aim is to provide a source of interesting insightful information in a straight-forward manner without all of the techno mumbo-jumbo. There are plants I like, and plants I don't. Products I like and products I don't.
I shoot from the hip, call 'em as I see 'em and let the (wood) chips fall where they may.
I will update this site continuously with articles and info I think you will find useful and welcome your questions and suggestions. Oh yeah, because I really do have a "real" job with a "big box store", please allow a week or so for a response.
